Kimberly and I spoke to the Denver Post in January of 2017 on Martin Luther King Day. It was our decision to speak to the press after having the case slow walked by the EEOC and shelved since we initially filed our complaints. Our attorney Lynn Feiger at the time was working with the EEOC to provide additional information during the complaint process. In 2015 the EEOC found cause and our complaints were again tabled by the next administration. Jackson changed their internal and external counsel again which I believe was due to them covering up their tracks. They fired some individuals involved with the widespread discrimination and retired some others with lucrative packages. Seyfarth Shaw was retained and Gerald L Maatman, Jr., a partner who worked with Lynn Feiger on a Coors discrimination case received our offer to settle. Jerry agreed to meet for mediation but what many of us did not expect was that it was his strategy to offer us pennies for what he believed was the value our pain and suffering because of our race and gender. You see Jerry is a civil war historian and in my option a nationalist and why he was retained. Jackson's was founded after former president Andrew Jackson and Seyfarth was counsel for Donald J Trump who became president. They believed the actions of their executives was fine and refused to accept any liability for their actions. After all Gregory Salsbury said it was "unheard of for blacks to make over 100K in the financial industry". He also was responsible for relocating the sales force from Atlanta to Denver because "the applicant pool was too black". Jackson then relocated the sales force to Nashville, TN which was more in line with the race of the applicants they wanted to retain. Greg was apart of an orchestrated strategy to terminate all the minorities at the firm and not allow African Americans or women to be hired as wholesalers. Many of the sales positions were given to white males that Jackson was proud of until I started applying for external wholesaler positions. The running joke was I can apply but I would never be hired by the white males who were divisional Vice Presidents or executives at the firm.
Please stay tuned for updates...
